FUNCTIONS OF INTERGROUP CENTRAL OFFICE
The Langley Intergroup Central Office is an A.A. service office involving a partnership among groups within District 43 serving Aldergrove, Cloverdale, Fort Langley, and Langley. It exists for the common purpose of carrying the message of Alcoholics Anonymous to the alcoholic who still suffers.
The Langley Intergroup Central Office is staffed by volunteers or service workers who cover the phones, answer inquiries and 12-Step calls, and sell A.A. literature. The office facilitates 12-Step work by connecting A.A. members with people who have a desire to stop drinking and who wish to know more about A.A.
INTERGROUP CENTRAL OFFICE SERVICES
- Rent and maintain an office to provide the means of access to A.A information for members and the public through telephone, email, in person, and through the website
- Answer the phones 24 hours a day, 7 days a week
- Facilitate 12-Step calls and provide information to callers with questions about A.A.
- Keep an up-to-date meeting list in print available to groups and members within the district
- Sell A.A. and Grapevine literature, as well as local pamphlets and BC/Yukon Area 79 publications
- Cooperate with District 43 groups and their service board in supporting A.A. members and the alcoholics who still suffer
- Rent meeting space for A.A. committees, sub-committees, and group business meetings
- Provide photocopy services for A.A. committees, groups, and meetings
- Support the Public Information and Cooperation with the Professional Community Committee, as well as the Corrections Committee, which includes the provision of materials and storage space
- Support groups in the district by providing physical copies of flyers of upcoming events and the monthly newsletter
- Provide space for the District 43 Archives to display and/or store historical A.A. related materials.
- Provide a safe and comfortable setting for A.A. members and individuals with a desire to quit drinking to come and connect.
- Provide Al-Anon contact information to friends or family members who contact us with concerns over a loved one’s drinking.

INTERGROUP COMMITTEE MEETINGS
The Intergroup office for District 43 meets on the 3rd Tuesday of each month at 7:00 pm. The meeting is currently held on zoom and in the Intergroup Office.

Meetings are usually attended by Intergroup Representatives for all groups in the District 43 area and Intergroup Committee members. Any member of A.A. who wishes to learn more about Intergroup as a service entity is invited to join us.
